In the past decade, the number of museums has increased by 60%, with a significant rise in the popularity of art museums. Young people are increasingly engaging with art on social media, sharing their favorite pieces and even curating guides on must-see artworks. This shift has turned art museums into social and cultural hotspots, where visitors document and share their experiences online. With the advent of NFTs, the art world has evolved even further, as more individuals are now willing to invest in and own digital versions of their favorite works, making art ownership more accessible and appealing.
Research
To gain a deeper understanding of user behavior and preferences regarding museum visits, a comprehensive survey was conducted, yielding 148 valid responses. The findings revealed that many users are overwhelmed by the vast number of museums and exhibits, often struggling to retain details of their visits. Additionally, participants expressed a strong desire for a more interactive and personalized museum experience. Through interviews, it became evident that users are increasingly interested in sharing their museum visits on social media and connecting with others who have similar artistic tastes. The research highlighted the need for a platform that simplifies the museum experience, makes it more engaging, and allows users to curate and showcase their own art collections digitally.
USER JOURNEY MAP
This journey map highlights various pain points that users face when visiting a museum, from the ticketing process to capturing and sharing the experience afterward. The main issues revolve around cost, overcrowding, time constraints, and insufficient ways to document and share experiences. These insights suggest that users are seeking more efficient, interactive, and immersive experiences that not only streamline the museum visit but also enhance the ability to engage with and share art meaningfully. A solution that addresses these pain points could improve user satisfaction and engagement with art museums.

Next Steps
Expand Features: Based on user feedback and technological advancements, expand the app’s features to include more interactive elements like AR experiences of artworks or enhanced social sharing capabilities.
What I'd Do Differently:
Broader Initial Research: In future projects, I would expand the initial research phase to include a wider demographic and possibly international users. This could provide a more diverse range of insights and help anticipate different user needs more effectively.
What I Learned:
User-Centered Design: This project reinforced the importance of grounding every design decision in user needs and behaviors. From initial research to final product testing, understanding the user's experience was crucial for creating features that truly enhance their engagement and satisfaction.
